heading out of town tomorrow and enjoying a pipe and some coffee this morn
2026-04-28
I am getting ready to help one of my best friends move to her new place tomorrow, which is going to be fun. Will be going out of town for a night or two, helping her get sorted into her new place, and then heading back home.
The place my friend is moving to is about two hours from my house, so it will be a fun little drive, and will be my first time out of town in quite awhile. We will be hitting up a few burger and pizza joints I'm sure, so that will be fun. I know I will probably be hitting up Whataburger, since it is one of my favorite places to grab a burger and it's a bit of a rare treat since we don't have one in my small town.
I'm going to spend the rest of today getting some things done online and perhaps doing a stream since I'm not going to be online much the next few days, except maybe at night on my travel machine. Got a few things I want to add to the site tonight, and I also want to do some things to the naviOS website I've been building - it is coming along nicely, and I will be sharing it as soon as it is done.
Other than planning for this move and getting some things done online, I have be en greatly enjoying a new bass I picked up from a good friend of mine the other day. He was looking to sell his Mitchell MB100 bass guitar, and I have been in the market for a bass loosely for awhile, looking round at different options. I played his bass and it played amazingly, had great action and brand new strings, so I said I'd take it. I have been playing it quite a bit the last few days and am going to be using it in some songs on the next record I'm going to be doing after finishing up void/null for the x3nyth project.
The bass has some punch to it! It sounds very good, especially when doing some slapping. I am looking forward to using it on the next record and seeing what we come up with - I already have a few ideas and some potential basslines I've jotted down so I don't forget them.
All in all, I am enjoying this chill day on my machine so far today. I have been listening to the rain hit the roof, enjoyed some smooth jazz on some random playlist I found, and been having some cinnamon-chai coffee I made that has been pairing just wonderfully with enjoying some nice tobacco from the pipe. There is nothing like a nice chill day before going out of town and having a busy end to the week, so I am going to enjoy today as much as I can, the rest of this evening, maybe do a stream, play some online games, and have a good time before crashing and getting up and heading out in the morning.
On a side note, damn, I didn't realize we were already almost into May already! This month has flown by, especially with all the storms we've been having over the last few weeks. We almost had some flooding down the hill on my road the other day with all the rain we got! I am hoping that the people in Oklahoma across the state line are okay - they had some bad tornadoes, one being an EF-4! Some of the footage I saw from that storm was insane. Here's hoping to better weather for everyone going into May; I know I for one am ready for it to dry out so I can break out the grill and grill up some burgers and steaks!
At any rate, I suppose that is enough rambling for now. I hope you are having a great week as well, reader! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you in the next post.
