homemade chocolate milk

a wonderful sweet treat

Growing up, I always loved chocolate milk. It is always a quick and simple thing to make and satisfies that craving when you want a sweet treat.

Back in the day, I used to keep Ovaltine or Hershey's around to make chocolate milk. My wife, however, got me into the idea of making our very own chocolate milk using just a few simple ingredients we keep around the kitchen.

It couldn't be easier - here is how we get it done.

Please note that the measurements below are for a standard 8oz glass of chocolate milk. You can scale the recipe up or down depending on your preferences.

ingredients

cooking instructions

  1. Combine the cocoa powder and sugar into a cup or glass, and add a splash of warm milk or water over the top (this helps to keep the cocoa powder from clumping up).
  2. Stir this mixture until you end up with a syrup-y consistency.
  3. Fill the rest of the cup or glass with cold milk. Stir it well, and enjoy!

If you've got a sweet tooth and like the idea of making your own chocolate milk, this is certainly the way to go in my opinion. You can make it as rich or as light as you want, and it comes out great each time (and only requires three ingredients and three steps to make!). Give it a shot and see if you like it!
